At the end of the course you will know how to…

* This course is for intermediate to advanced lyre players and for lyres of any type with at least 7 strings. It is highly recommended to first complete the beginner courses 101, 102 and 103, along with all core lessons (both beginner and intermediate) availabel also at LyreAcademy.
* Do you own a lyre with more strings? The course
can be done by students with a lyre or a kithara with 7 or more strings. Simple and step-by-step videos are available to prepare your lyre for the courses (including tuning).

Learn how to play an advanced arrangement of an ancient melody (called “Dodekasimos”), and grasp the opportunity to get in touch with polyphonic playing on a lyre!
Lesson 2: Transform a basic ancient melody into a tune for
Did you know that you can transform any ancient melody into a tune for advanced lyre players? What you need is a deep understanding of different playing techniques, along with your endless creativity! Learn how to enrich an original ancient melody by applying eighth and sixteenth notes to your playing.
Lesson 3: Warm up with Mozart
Let’s warm up with two hands playing, harmonics and sixteenth notes while learning how to play a classic music piece called “Eine kleine Nachtmusik” by W. A. Motzart.
Lesson 4: Learn how to play “O Pastor”
We are going to focus on a quite demanding song by Madredeus with three distinct parts (intro, part a and part b), giving us the opportunity to eighth and sixteenth notes, various fingerings etc.
Lesson 5 Master your arpeggios playing
Master your arpeggios technique, while learning how to play (step by step) the famous song “Take my breath away” by Berlin! This is a great chance to practice your signing too while playing the lyre.
Lesson 6 Speed up and master your harmonics skills
In order to learn “The Last of the Mohicans,” you will have to practice playing harmonics at a fast tempo, along with mastering your arpeggios fingerstyle!
