Nawashi Murakawa, the Artistic Director of London’s annual festival of the Art of Japanese Rope Bondage, offers historical insights spanning 12,000 years, showcasing how Kinbaku has transformed into a dramatic art form performed worldwide.

This series of ten chapters explores the evolution of rope bondage in the UK, Russia, Canada, and the USA, alongside a contemporary live performance in Tokyo. The concluding section highlights traditional Japanese techniques. Chapters featuring Japanese contributors are presented in both Japanese and English.
