102 Heart Rhythm Meditation Course (2019) – The Four Elemental Energies (Week 01 – 08)
The Elements of Purpose is a course that will give you the tools to ask yourself the question, “What is my purpose,” and find an answer. While covering all of the breaths of the established, 102: Elements course, this course will add an additional layer, which will give you the tools to use these elements for the question of purpose. The course will also include our self-guided basics course, Breath & Heart for those that want to catch up on the basics of Heart Rhythm Meditation before applying it to something.
The course does not seek to answer the question of purpose directly, as this it is too big to resolve in a few weeks, but by the end, you will have the tools to answer questions of purpose for yourself in a way that you hadn’t imagined before. Mystics have used these tools for thousands of years to find answers within themselves.
To answer the question of purpose we use two sets of tools mapped onto one another, The Five Desires, and The Elements Breaths that correspond to them. You will look at your life, its potential paths forward, and ask yourself which one will lead to purpose. This is an exercise that is useful on its own. The mind has answers to these questions, which can be derived logically, but the heart has different answers which are divined rather than worked out. Once you have felt these answers, the next question is, what does this mean and what do I do? In meditation, you will be better able to answer for yourself, and this community will help you to get there.
This is where we turn to our meditation toolkit. We will work together to categorize your questions into one of the five desires, and then ask our hearts these questions with our breath. It may sound funny to some, but it is more practical than it may sound. Some results may be very clear, and some may take analysis, but you will arrive places you would never have arrived at with a with the classically, logical tools of analysis.
Meditation is often thought of as a tool for awareness, with the goal of either relaxation or ‘enlightenment,’ but it is also defined as a practice to bring the attention inward. The practice of awareness and relaxation, are awarenesses and changes of your inner world. Once your attention is turned inward, there is far more to discover there, than simple relaxation.
You can use these tools to ask yourself questions of where your life is right now, and where you would like to take it, or what is the meaning of your life in a larger sense. You can look at different times in your life, to find previous purposes. The purpose you were driving toward at 19 was likely different than your purpose at 27 and so forth.
This course will cover four of the five desires taught in the iamHeart school. You will look at your place in the world now, and where you would like to be, and categorize that desire for change into one of the categories listed below.
