When Enough is Enough: De-Prescribing and Ceasing Preventive Testing/Screening
Do you know what medications should be de-prescribe and what preventive tests should be stopped in elderly patients? Dr. Chatelain will answer those questions.
Educational Objectives:
- Illustrate medications to de-prescribe
- Share preventive tests for the older adult
- Outline when to stop preventive testing in the older adult
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). The Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association (AOMA) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians.

Faculty
Shaun Chatelain, DO is a geriatrician practicing in Tucson, Arizona. Originally from snowy Utah, Shaun studied osteopathic medicine at Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated in 2014. He then went on to Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Arizona in Tucson. After finishing residency, he completed a fellowship in Geriatrics at the University of Utah. He then moved back to Tucson to be reunited with his sweetheart and they were married in August 2019. He has worked in the Geriatrics department for Banner University Medicine since moving back to Tucson and loves taking care of older patients and learning from them. Dr. Chatelain attended The Utah State University and majored in biological engineering prior to medical school. He is an avid supporter of Utah State athletics, in particular, Aggie basketball. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, skiing, and fly fishing and spending time with his wife who is in her psychiatry residency at the University of Arizona in Tucson.
